Our Guest Speaker will be Virginia Lester 

Ms. Lester has been a therapist for 25 years, specializing in the effects of trauma on childhood development.  She works in the Early Childhood Mental Health department at Beech Brook where the focus is to develop successful strategies for supporting healthy child development.  

Current trends in child development encourage emotional regulation via “connect and correct” rather than finding the “correct consequence”.  She is a parent trainer for the Institute of Human Services and teaches courses state-wide to promote understanding on childhood development.
